The “Kandui Villas® Collection” is a series of paintings commissioned on-site at Kandui Villas® featuring the surf and seascapes of the local breaks of the Mentawai Islands. Created by impressionistic surf artist Robert Heeley, this artwork is characterized by the use of rich and uniquely balanced colors, as these works pique the imagination with thrilling imagery of sparking surfaces and the breath of fresh salt air.
Heeley finds his inspiration and stoke through the power of nature and the beauty of her magical oceans, and this passion is personified in his art. Robert draws upon his own surfing and sailing lifestyle in creating images that allow the viewer to identify with his seascapes. His love of traveling helps to create and capture the essence of every surfer’s favorite wave, producing dreamscapes of spectacular waves at famous surf spots throughout the Indonesian Mentawai Archipelago.
While he is based in the Santa Barbara area of Southern California, Robert has traveled to create works featuring the waves at famous surf spots throughout California, Indonesia, Hawaii, Mexico and Costa Rica.
